Ron Hobbs

1932 - 2026

It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Ron Hobbs, a much-loved figure in the community and one of the founding pioneers of Little League Football. Ron passed away peacefully at St George’s Hospital yesterday, just weeks after celebrating his 94th birthday.

Ron was instrumental in the early days of Little League Football, helping to establish a platform that brought young people together through sport, teamwork, and community spirit. His vision, dedication, and tireless efforts helped create opportunities for generations of children to develop not only their football skills, but also lifelong friendships and values.

Those who knew Ron will remember his passion for the game, his unwavering commitment to grassroots football, and his warm, approachable nature. He gave countless hours to supporting clubs, volunteers, and young players, always believing in the positive impact that community sport could have on people’s lives.

Beyond his contributions to football, Ron was a devoted family man and a respected member of the local community. His legacy lives on in the many players, coaches, and volunteers whose lives he touched over the years.

Ron’s passing marks the end of an era, but his influence will continue to be felt for many years to come. He will be deeply missed by all who had the privilege of knowing him.

Our thoughts are with his family and loved ones at this difficult time.
