Morden Little League: The Season May Have Ended, But Our Work Never Stopped!
While the players, families and coaches enjoyed a well-earned break over the summer, the work behind the scenes at Morden Little League continued.
Football might have been off the pitches, but for our amazing team of volunteers, there was still plenty to do. The summer is one of the busiest times of the year for preparing for the season ahead, and our volunteers have been working hard to make sure everything is ready for another fantastic year of free grassroots football for local children.
🛠️ Behind the Scenes This Summer
With the final whistle of last season already a distant memory, our volunteers got straight to work preparing for the new campaign.
Fixtures have been organised, teams have been carefully put together and managers and coaches have been recruited and supported. There has also been plenty of work making sure our equipment and playing kits are ready for hundreds of children returning to football.
Our sheds and storage areas have been tidied, repaired and reorganised, while old and unused equipment has been cleared out to create much-needed space. It may not be the most glamorous part of running a football league, but it is essential work that helps keep everything safe, organised and ready to go.
The team has also been busy putting together our new 2026 Handbook, bringing together fixtures, league information, committee details, sponsors and everything players and families need to know for the season ahead.

It's not just the pitches and equipment that have been getting ready for the new season. Our website has also been updated and refreshed over the summer.
We've been working behind the scenes to make sure the website has the latest information for players, parents, carers, coaches and volunteers, helping everyone stay up to date throughout the season.

🟢 Now It's Time to Get Back on the Pitch!
After months of preparation, we're delighted to welcome everyone back for our 59th season, starting on:
Saturday 19th September 2026
We can't wait to see our players back in their kits, families around the pitches and our volunteers bringing the league to life once again.
And there is plenty happening this season.
Our 2026 Handbook is available for just £1, giving families all the important information they need for the season.
We're also introducing an updated pitch map, making it easier for players, parents, carers and visitors to find their way around the site and locate the correct pitches.
And after a break, the Morden Little League raffle is returning! Starting on Saturday 26th September, look out for our raffle sellers around the grounds. Every ticket helps support the league and contributes towards our goal of continuing to provide free football for hundreds of local children.

The safety and wellbeing of our players is always a priority. First aid and medical support will be available on Saturday mornings throughout the season.

At Morden Little League, the football is only part of what makes the league special.
Every Saturday brings together children, parents, carers, coaches, managers, officials, volunteers, sponsors and supporters from across our community.
Behind every fixture, every team, every kit, every pitch and every website update is a group of volunteers giving their time to make it happen.
So, while the season may have been over during the summer, the work never stopped.
Now, after all those months of preparation, we're ready to open the gates, get the pitches busy and start another season together.
