Information for Parents / Guardians
Without your support we cannot operate Morden Little League. We are a charity organisation providing FREE football to every child and rely on your generosity and support. Even volunteering a few hours makes all the difference. If you think you can support us do reach out using the Contact Us form (by clicking the Green Contact Us button above)
Below you will find a link to our brand new Pitch Map, this will show you where your child’s team will normally play. We have also put together some frequently asked questions and will be adding to them during the season.

You can find out the latest information on potential postponements by checking right here on our website.
Updates are posted at around 8:30am on Saturday's and will be shown on the home page within the Latest News section. You will also be able to see the current status within the the banner at the top of our website. Under normal circumstances it will be green, if matches are cancelled the bar will change to red. In the event we believe games may be cancelled ahead of Saturday it will change to Amber.
We will also post an update on our Social Media pages such as Facebook.
If you are in doubt, text or call the League Help Line using the details below.
Please do not ring Managers on Thursday or Friday evenings, or early on the Saturday morning. Managers/Referees get to the King George’s Playing Field at 7am, they will not know the condition of the pitches and will not have an update for you until then.
If you haven't had a phone call or text, then no decision has been made and the games are still on.
Please help your Manager by letting them know in good time if your child is unable to play, and do lend a hand with goal posts and clearing up - remember we are all volunteers!.
Fixtures for the Saturday after postponed games are as stated in the Fixture Lists in the handbook unless otherwise advised on our website.
Please do not phone anyone in the League after 9:00pm except in the case of serious emergencies.

Your child should have shin pads and football boots.
NB. We often have great quality second hand boots in the Pavilion costing just £2.00. We also welcome any donations of boots that no longer fit your child.
During autumn/winter, please make sure your child has suitable warm clothes on. Several layers under the football kit are recommended, plus an anorak to put on after the game.
Tracksuit bottoms and gloves may be worn during the colder months.
-
We usually continue to play in light rain or showers.
If the weather is too bad, the pitches are waterlogged (which could still apply even if there has been no rain for 24 hours) or frozen solid then the games may be called off.
-
We have limited Car Parking space at King George’s Field, the nearest other spaces are at Morden Assembly Rooms on Lower Morden Lane.
The car park only holds around 30 cars and is usually full by 9am every Saturday morning.
When parking, be respectful to other users and please do not block the yellow boxes as these are needed for emergency vehicles.
If a vehicle is found to be parked on a yellow box, authorities will be notified, and the vehicle could be towed away.

Morden Little League is run by people like you, parents and guardians of children, who give their time for free.
We provide free football for every child, but we ask that you do your bit by helping with your team’s café duty and coming along to our fundraising and social events.
If you would like to help please ask!

You are always welcome to watch the games and someone must stay who is responsible for each child, particularly in the lowest age group.
Most kids like to see supporters cheering on the side-lines, even if they don’t admit it.
Please note MLL is not a babysitting service.
You must stay behind the respect barrier, this is identified by the roped area running alongside the pitch. Never stand behind goals or outside of the marked area. This is to ensure everyone stays safe.

The league cannot and will not review the decisions of match officials once it’s over.
If you have a complaint, it is best not to verbally abuse the manager or other league officials during a stressful Saturday morning.
A public argument would not be constructive, when all involved may be agitated.
In the event that any Morden Little League member feels that he or she has suffered in any way, or that the Club Policies, Rules or Code of Conduct have been broken they should follow the procedure below:
Submit a report to
the Liaison Officer in writing within 7 days of the incident.
Use our form
The report should include:
Details of what/when/where the occurrence took place.
Any witness statements and names.
A preference for a solution to the incident.
The Club’s Management Committee will acknowledge receipt of your complaint within 10 days and after investigation, will provide a written response within 21 days.
The League Management Committee reserve the right to consider penalties up to and including permanent exclusion (adult/s and children) for failing to accept and follow the League’s code of conduct. This may include any other siblings also playing within the league either in the same section or any other section.
